Diehard II opened with great expectations and high hopes for many and rightly so... it seemed as if we might see something more akin to what the community once was... It all seemed so promising on paper but I'm afraid the vision seems to have faded... Diehard was meant to be where we did the real work, where efforts were focussed on modding. I'm afraid that skilled modders may be a dying breed and that we may not have enough of them to make this forum viable. I admit that I personally am no great modder, I'm more an ideas man who can't get stuff done alone but I don't want to see Diehard or TresCom become extinct. Anyone reading this may notice that there are occasional flurries of activity here whenever someone makes a post but these die down too fast as there's too little to say... last time this happened I thought it was enough to save the forum but my hope died with that brief period of activity. I'm of the opinion we need to find something to save the forum, some way to keep it alive. Hppav, the forum's your brainchild, you're also a fine example of what the forum needs... you actually post stuff that can be discussed... I'd like to say that if only a few followed your example this place might be somewhat more alive. I now pass this thread over to anyone who may have suggestions as to how to save this place...

(man this is the longest post I've ever made... *wipes sweat of brow*)

Things are slow here, I admit. There's only a handful of members here at the moment. In fact the slowness of these boards bring back memories of the early days post-TresCom name change. There were a lot of times where NOTHING was said for days.

Now I'm working on a secret project but I won't reveal it until a little bit later. In fact I think Draco may find it something unexpected since he thought I committed it to his "engine project" but meh, I don't know what's going on with him and Rex much anymore.

Anyways I agree, it's slow but it's always the first stretch that's the hardest for a new community like this. I have one pretty much the same, and it suffers thanks to the preference of the members who prefer the interface of the other community... if only they could see what we did over there...

I've added "destructive pessimism" to the list of offenses to this site, I just want to make it clear that this is "constructive pessimism" and thus does not violate the new rule. Here's examples of "destructive pessimism":

"I hate this *BLEEP* place! Nothing goes on here and the mods are ***holes! I'M LEAVING!"
-This constitutes trolling.

"Trespasser is dead, you should move on."
-This constitutes forum wide flaming.

A full list of punishments for these and other offenses have been posted in the policy/rules forum.

You're the only one to do it so far (and not even here) but it's obvious that it will indeed happen again somewhere (possible here) so best to just avoid it all.
